What is the Conference Name Badge Design Kit?
More than a template pack, the Conference Name Badge Design Kit turns one badge design and a guest list into a complete set of editable badges and print ready PDFs. It combines Recognition First templates, guest badge creation, a built in review step and print preparation in one repeatable workflow, without wrestling with mail merge or arranging pages by hand.

Design
Choose a Recognition First badge template and customise it for your event.

Create
Upload your guest list and create one complete Google Slides file with an editable badge for every guest.

Review
Check the complete badge set and make any changes before generating the printable PDFs.

Download PDFs with multiple badges already arranged on each page, ready for home, office or print shop printing.
Built on the Recognition First Badge Design System™
Built and refined through producing more than 130,000 real conference badges, the system gives names, roles, branding and supporting information a clear hierarchy so each badge remains readable as guest details change.
Recognition
The attendee’s name is always the most important element.
Context
Job title and organisation support the conversation without competing for attention.
Event Identity
Branding frames the event without overpowering the attendee.
Utility
QR codes, sponsors and supporting information belong where they help, not where they distract.
Creating one badge is easy. Producing badges for a whole event is where things get fiddly.
What starts as a design task quickly becomes guest lists, mail merge, quality control and print layout. Every guest will wear the result, so every name, detail and print layout has to be right.
A template helps you design one badge. This kit helps you produce the complete set.

One design has to work with every guest
A layout that works with one sample name can become crowded or unreadable when real names, roles and organisations are added.

Guest lists keep changing
Late registrations, speaker updates and spelling corrections arrive after production begins. You need to absorb those changes without rebuilding the entire job.

Print preparation matters
A finished design is not yet a printable badge set. The kit calculates how many badges fit on each page, arranges them at the correct size and spacing, and adds trim marks. Choose a printer safe layout for home or office printing, or a full bleed layout for your print shop.

Manual work
creates risk
The more steps involved, the more opportunities for formatting errors, duplicated effort and production delays.
Automate the repetitive work. Keep control of the final result.
Design once
Create one badge design and apply it across the guest list instead of building badges one by one.
Review the complete set
Every badge remains editable, so you can catch unusual names, late changes and formatting issues before printing.
Recreate without rebuilding
Create a fresh badge file from an updated guest list while reusing the same design.
Skip manual page layout
Generate front and optional back PDFs with the badges arranged at the correct size and spacing.
Five proven badge layouts. Customise a design or build your own.
Most conference name badge templates are designed in a studio.
These layouts were shaped by producing more than 130,000 real conference and event badges for conferences, corporate events and professional gatherings.
Every template is built around recognition first: readable names, clear roles and branding that supports the badge without overwhelming it.
If your team calls it a conference name tag, event name tag or event badge layout, the workflow is the same: start with readable design, merge your guest list, then prepare files for print.
Designed for events
Distinctive conference name tags and event name tags for corporate gatherings.
Built for networking
Name sizes and hierarchy designed for visibility across a room.
Flexible formats
Choose the badge size that suits your event and printing method.
Adapt or build
Customise a design or start from a blank template with production settings already configured.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need design experience?
No. Choose a Recognition First template, then customise the colours, logo and event details in Google Slides.
What do I need to use the kit?
You need a Google account, a guest list saved as a CSV, and either a suitable printer or access to a print shop.
How many badges can I create?
The kit creates up to 300 badges in one run. For larger events, divide your guest list into batches of up to 300 and reuse the same Google Slides badge design for each batch. Review and generate the print PDFs for each batch separately.
Can I prepare my guest list in Excel or another spreadsheet?
Yes. Prepare the guest list in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or another spreadsheet, then export it as a CSV before uploading it.
Do I need Google Slides experience?
No specialist experience is required. You need to be comfortable editing basic text, colours and images in Google Slides. The Production Guide takes you through the rest.
Do I need a Google account?
Yes. You need a Google account to copy, edit and review the Google Slides badge files.
Can I print the badges myself?
Yes. Choose a layout with safe printer margins, download the PDF and print at 100% scale. You will also need suitable badge stock and a way to trim the finished badges. Test one page before printing the full run.
Can I use a professional print shop?
Yes. Choose the print shop layout, then download the front PDF and optional back PDF to send to your printer.
Can I use the kit again?
Yes. Your templates and Google Slides files remain yours, and you can use the kit for future events without paying again. There is no per badge fee.
What if my guest list changes?
For a small correction, edit the badge directly in the Google Slides file before creating the PDFs. For larger guest list changes, upload an updated CSV and create a fresh badge file.
What if a name doesn’t fit?
The workflow adjusts text to help accommodate different name and role lengths. You can then review the editable badge file and adjust unusual cases before generating the print layout PDF.
Are landscape templates included?
No. The kit includes portrait templates only. They are designed to give names, roles, organisations and event information a clear vertical hierarchy.
What support is included?
The Production Guide and Help page explain how to use the kit. Technical support is available if the kit is not working as described. It does not include custom badge design, guest list preparation, printer setup or print troubleshooting.
How long are the PDF downloads available?
Each generated PDF link remains available for 48 hours. Download it when it is ready. You can regenerate the layout later whenever needed.
What happens to my guest list and badge files?
Files containing guest information are retained only long enough to create and deliver your badge files. Merged badge files and front print layouts are deleted 24 hours after they are created.
Imported template copies do not contain guest information and are deleted seven days after the job is complete. Back print layouts also contain no guest information and are deleted seven days after they are created.
Job and deletion logs are retained for 90 days.
How is this different from a $10 Canva or Etsy template?
A template shows you how one badge could look. The Conference Name Badge Design Kit does four things a template pack doesn’t: it applies the Recognition First design system (proven across 130,000+ real badges), it automates badge creation from your guest list, it generates print-ready PDFs with correct spacing and trim marks, and it includes a six-step guide to get the whole job right. Oh, and our templates are professionally designed and beautiful. A $10 template gives you a starting point. This kit gives you a complete production system.
