Small Deeds, Big Impact

Not too long ago, I attended an event and was handed the obligatory name badge, plastic holder, metal clip, and lanyard at the registration table.

It bothered me.

Chances are if you stopped to think about it, it'd bother you too.

Earlier my 17-year-old had noticed a stack of badges and lanyards languishing on a hook in my office and said, "You know Mum, all that stuff ends up in landfill."

So now I was both bothered and guilty … which gave me an idea. Why not create name badges from plantable seed paper and lanyards from biodegradable material?

Hence Terra Tag was born. An eco-friendly name badge and lanyard business, that reduces the amount of event material that ends up in landfill.

People love it when they're handed something they can plant or recycle instead of tossing in a bin. And businesses? They love it too. By choosing our eco-friendly name badges and lanyards, they're making a statement. They're showing a commitment to sustainability, aligning their brand with environmental responsibility. It's more than a product; it's a symbol of their dedication to a greener future.

And they're pretty snazzy looking if I don't say so myself.

I believe in kindness, honesty, service, freedom, and curiosity. These values guide me in life, and they're at the heart of Terra Tag. This work matters to me. It feels like I'm doing something that is bigger than me, something more important than me.

So, the next time someone is planning an event or you're handed a traditional name badge and lanyard, I’d be grateful if you’d think of us and refer them to our website. Great acts are made from small deeds.

If this story resonates with you, please share it. Just by spreading the word, we can all help reduce waste and make a positive impact on our planet.

Thanks for listening :)
