FAQs About Our Eco-Friendly Business Cards
Q: What’s the difference between recycled and seed paper business cards?
A: Recycled paper cards are made from post-consumer business waste & can be recycled again after use. Seed paper cards are made with office paper wast as well … however we embed them with non-GMO seeds — they can be planted to grow herbs or flowers. Both are eco wins, just with different afterlives.
Q: What seeds are in the plantable business cards?
A: We offer two mixes:
Herb Mix: Thyme, Oregano, Parsley
Flower Mix: Swan River Daisy, Alyssum, Forget-Me-Not
We can embed other seed types providing htey are small enough - just ask!
Not sure which seed mix to choose? Our guide to seed paper varieties breaks down your options. You can also learn more about the specific seeds we use, or check out our step-by-step planting guide if you’re new to growing from seed paper.
Q: Will seed paper be strong enough for a business card?
A: Ours will. Terra Tag’s seed paper is 300gsm — the thickest, most durable in Australia — so your card feels as good as it looks (until it grows into parsley, that is).
Q: How do I plant a seed paper business card?
A: Tear it up, plant under a thin layer of soil, water gently & give it some sun. Most seeds germinate within 7–21 days. Need the full how-to? Here's our step-by-step planting guide.
Q: Can I print on both sides of the card?
A: Yep! You can go single-sided or double-sided — Make sure you adhere to our artwork guidelines so everything is “copacetic”.
Q: Can I handwrite on the cards or use them as loyalty cards?
A: Absolutely. Both recycled & seed paper are compatible with pens and stamps — perfect for loyalty programs, handwritten thank-yous, or gifting.
Q: Are the inks and adhesives eco-friendly too?
A: They are. We use water based inks & low-impact adhesives — everything is chosen with sustainability in mind.
Q: Can I see a sample badge before ordering?
A: We don’t send physical samples (seeds are precious), but you can see plenty of photos & videos of our products in action. Check out our visuals or visit us on LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube & Instagram.
